Dr. Elahi briefly discusses ground-breaking application of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to mitigate abnormal cravings for alcohol on a recent patient. Changes in brain activity as seen on QEEG (quantitative EEG) imaging are shown from baseline to after treatment showing the marked improvements in brain circuit dysregulation. Patient reported drastic decrease in his cravings for alcohol accompanied by near zero use even when placed in social environments and/or settings that would normally increase drinking behavior.
