What if TMS treatment could be completed in a single day?
NeuroSpa Brain Rejuvenation Centers now offers an innovative One-Day Accelerated TMS treatment designed for patients seeking a faster, more convenient approach to treating depression.
Most traditional TMS treatments require 6 weeks. Recent accelerated treatments require 5 days. Now, instead of attending daily TMS sessions for several weeks, the one-day protocol delivers a series of precisely timed treatments over the course of one treatment day.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain networks involved in mood regulation.
Our accelerated protocol uses intermittent Theta Burst Stimulation (iTBS) — an advanced form of TMS that allows each individual treatment session to be completed in only a few minutes.
Throughout the day, patients receive multiple brief iTBS sessions separated by scheduled rest periods, allowing intensive treatment to be delivered within a single day.
At NeuroSpa, treatment is directed by a board-certified neurologist using advanced brain imaging and targeting technologies to help identify and precisely stimulate the appropriate brain region.
Patients remain awake and alert throughout treatment and can relax between sessions.
Traditional TMS commonly requires 30–36 treatment visits over approximately 6 weeks.
Accelerated TMS protocols are designed to deliver multiple treatment sessions in a much shorter period of time.
Our One-Day TMS program may be especially appealing for patients who:
Have not improved adequately with antidepressant medications
Have experienced medication side effects
Have previously responded to TMS but experience relapse
Have difficulty attending treatment every weekday for several weeks
Travel from outside the area for treatment
Prefer an intensive, time-efficient treatment option
Evaluation including qEEG testing, treatment preparation and individualized targeting
20 brief (3 minute) TMS treatments with scheduled 30 minute breaks between sessions
Relax, read, work on a laptop, eat or rest
Treatment completed and follow-up plan established
Most patients can resume their usual activities following treatment.
Research continues to explore how carefully spaced, accelerated TMS protocols may deliver a full course of treatment in a significantly shorter period of time.
Traditional TMS is typically delivered once daily over several weeks. Recent research suggests that multiple carefully spaced TMS sessions can be delivered in a much shorter period while maintaining therapeutic effects.
The ONE-D (Optimized Neuromodulation Enhanced) protocol was developed to investigate whether an accelerated course of TMS could be completed in a single day.
The protocol uses approximately 20 intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS) sessions, spaced about 30 minutes apart, over approximately 9.5 hours.
A peer-reviewed 2025 clinical study found the ONE-D approach to be feasible and well tolerated, with improvements in depression developing over the weeks following treatment. Because this was a relatively small open-label study, larger randomized trials are still needed.
Accelerated TMS has been studied in multiple clinical research settings. These studies have explored whether multiple TMS treatments can be safely administered within a shortened period of time while producing meaningful improvements in depressive symptoms.
Research findings support continued investigation of accelerated treatment approaches, although different accelerated protocols use different treatment schedules, stimulation parameters and patient populations.
The ONE-D protocol is a specific accelerated approach and should not be considered identical to other accelerated TMS protocols studied in clinical trials.
Accelerated TMS has also been studied at Stanford University. A double-blind, randomized, sham-controlled trial of Stanford Neuromodulation Therapy (SNT/SAINT) demonstrated that multiple iTBS treatments can be administered each day and produced substantial antidepressant effects.
SNT is a different protocol from One-Day TMS, but provides important evidence supporting the broader scientific concept of accelerated TMS.
The treatment itself is completed in one day.
The therapeutic response may continue developing for approximately 4–6 weeks afterward.

TMS is FDA cleared for major depressive disorder and certain other medical conditions. However, FDA clearance applies to specific devices, indications and treatment protocols. The One-Day Accelerated TMS approach is an accelerated treatment protocol that is being studied clinically and should not be described as a separate FDA-approved treatment.
Research continues to evaluate accelerated TMS approaches and their potential benefits. Individual responses vary, and improvement cannot be guaranteed. For additional information, please see the ‘The Science Behind One-Day Accelerated TMS’ and the published research above.
If medications haven't provided the improvement you were hoping for—or spending weeks attending conventional TMS isn't practical— One-Day TMS may offer another option.
A consultation with our physician will determine whether accelerated TMS is appropriate for you.
