Advanced Neurofeedback | NeuroSpa Brain Rejuvenation

Advanced neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback. The principle of advanced neurofeedback involves conveying (“feedback”) the actual waves of electrical discharges produced by network of neurons into clear visible digital graphics or audible sounds (hence ‘Neurofeedback’). With use of advances in biosensors, you can ‘see’ and ‘hear’ your brain as it processes different stimuli. By enabling you to see and hear your brain activity, you can treat the dysregulation of the brain activity through specific exercises and tools taught by experienced neuropsychologists. Difficulties with focus, attention, memory, emotional disturbances, and much more can be treated using this advanced tool.

Conditions such as ADD, anxiety, specific phobias, PTSD, brain injuries and many more have shown positive responses with use of advanced neurofeedback. When combined with other modalities of treatment (e.g., TMS), you can achieve the highest levels of success without the use of additional medications.

Procedure begins with sitting comfortably on chair or recliner in front of a digital display.  Technician applies small electrodes to scalp using specialized water-soluble gel.  The electrodes are designed to pick-up the brain electrical activity and relay that to the computer for processing.  You will then see your brain activity on the digital display.  You will then begin the treatment which involves exercising various different ‘brain tasks’ as instructed by experienced neuropsychologist at your side.

  • There is no transmission of any data or electricity to your brain. The electrodes only pick-up the brain’s electrical activity
  • There are no side-effects. Some experience fatigue during treatment similar to fatigue associated with playing chess, taking an exam, or other mental activities. The treatment can be modified to avoid or reduced any fatigue
  • The device cannot ‘read your thoughts’—only raw electrical activity.
  • Rarely, some may have skin irritability to the gel used for the electrodes. If this is so, the gel can be altered to reduce and avoid any skin reaction.
  • Each session can last between 20-40 minutes depending on the individual.
  • Multiple research studies have shown significant positive response with Neurofeedback. Some studies have shown 8 out of 10 patients with ADD/ADHD experiences complete resolution of their symptoms for several years following 30-40 sessions of advanced neurofeebdack.
