What if TMS treatment could be completed in a single day?
NeuroSpa Brain Rejuvenation Centers now offers an innovative One-Day Accelerated TMS treatment designed for patients seeking a faster, more convenient approach to treating depression.
Most traditional TMS treatments require 6 weeks. The recent accelerated treatments require 5 days. Now, Instead of attending daily TMS sessions for several weeks, the one-day protocol delivers a series of precisely timed treatments over the course of one treatment day with same if not better results including over 70% likelihood of complete remission (as seen on published research)
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain networks involved in mood regulation.
Our accelerated protocol uses intermittent Theta Burst Stimulation (iTBS) — an advanced form of TMS that allows each individual treatment session to be completed in only a few minutes.
Throughout the day, patients receive multiple brief iTBS sessions separated by scheduled rest periods, allowing intensive treatment to be delivered within a single day.
At NeuroSpa, treatment is directed by a board-certified neurologist using advanced brain imaging and targeting technologies to help identify and precisely stimulate the appropriate brain region.
Patients remain awake and alert throughout treatment and can relax between sessions.
Traditional TMS commonly requires 30–36 treatment visits over approximately 6 weeks.
Accelerated TMS protocols are designed to deliver multiple treatment sessions in a much shorter period of time.
Our One-Day TMS program may be especially appealing for patients who:
Have not improved adequately with antidepressant medications
Have experienced medication side effects
Have previously responded to TMS but experience relapse
Have difficulty attending treatment every weekday for several weeks
Travel from outside the area for treatment
Prefer an intensive, time-efficient treatment option
Evaluation including qEEG testing, treatment preparation and individualized targeting
20 brief (3 minute) TMS treatments with scheduled 30 minute breaks between sessions
Relax, read, work on a laptop, eat or rest
Treatment completed and follow-up plan established
Most patients can resume their usual activities following treatment.
TMS is FDA approved for major depressive disorder and several other conditions. However, accelerated one-day treatment schedules represent an emerging application of TMS and are not themselves specifically FDA cleared as a one-day treatment protocol.
Clinical research has demonstrated that accelerated TMS can produce rapid improvement in depressive symptoms in some patients. Individual responses vary, and improvement cannot be guaranteed.
If medications haven't provided the improvement you were hoping for—or spending weeks attending conventional TMS isn't practical— One-Day TMS may offer another option.
A consultation with our physician will determine whether accelerated TMS is appropriate for you.
